Sponsor Tracking

Each sponsor must:

• Complete training at  http://www.virtusonline.org
  • For first-time registrants:
    • Click on first-time registrant
    • Fill in the background check information and review code of conduct
    • Once finished, Notre Dame will assign the training modules for you to complete
  • If you are an existing user, log in using your existing log in credentials
  • All sponsors need to take two modules of training: 1. Anti-Harassment, and 2. Vulnerable Adults
• Turn in to Joyce or Sharmin the following:
  • Proof of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation certificate, etc)
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Sponsor questionnaire form for download:

To be a sponsor, you must…

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have received the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and Eucharist.
• Be someone other than the parent of the catechumen/candidate.
• Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• (Preferably) be a registered member of the parish.
• (Preferably) be someone other than the spouse or significant other of the catechumen/candidate.
• Complete diocesan required training
